Jason Lehman is the founder of Headlands Technologies LLC, a global quantitative proprietary trading firm headquartered in Chicago, with additional offices in San Francisco and Amsterdam. Headlands Technologies is one of the largest futures trading firms in the world.
Mr. Lehman is also the co-founder of Headlands Tech Global Markets, LLC ("HTGM"), a FINRA registered broker dealer that has grown into one of the leading liquidity providers in the fixed income markets.
Prior to founding Headlands Technologies, Mr. Lehman worked in various roles for Citadel Investment Group, LLC in Chicago. Most recently, Mr. Lehman started and ran the global options market making business for Citadel, growing this operation to be one of the largest market makers in the world. Launching in 2003, this business accounted for over 30% of all US option trades.
Before starting that business, he held senior positions in several Citadel fixed income businesses, including trading of Japanese Convertible bonds as well as serving as the Portfolio Manager for Citadel's Private Investments business. He developed an interest in the municipal bond markets in these roles.
Mr. Lehman served on the Board of Directors of the International Securities Exchange (ISE) from 2004-2008, serving as a member of the ISE's executive committee from 2007-2008. During his time on the Board, the ISE went public through an IPO, and was subsequently privately acquired by Deutsche Boerse. Additionally, he has testified several times before the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission as an expert on various market structure and related issues.
Mr. Lehman graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 with a B.S. in Economics and Finance.
